Jon, while you're waiting on scorp, I've got a question about your Black Rose paint job. While washing my 94 Black Rose car I knocked off a flake of clearcoat up in by the foglamp assembly on my front bumper. No big deal, can't see it but it got me curious about the paint job. The clear coat had a rose colored tint to it. I'm wondering if this color may be black metallic paint with a somewhat transperant rose tinted clear coat. Maybe you could shed some light on this since you painted your car Black Rose.
Brian ...My guess would be that some bleeding from the base coat. When you spray a car you do both the base coat and clear coat at the same time. Each coat is sprayed and a small amount of time is waited before the next coat is applied. This time is called "Flash Time". So I would think a small amount of base (color) coat would bleed into the clearcoat so they would adhear to one another. Thats my guess, perhaps some painter would chime in and tell me my theory is full of s*it. and enlighten us.
