About 2 1/2 years ago, I paid $6,500 for my '85. It had 70,010 miles on it, the cloth sport seats were showing wear, and it needed new tires. Otherwise, it ran out very strong, all I did was change all the fluids. It's had very few problems since. - just needed to clean the governor when the auto tranny started shhifting at high rpm. It has the Z-51 package. I know a guy that has for sale an '84, original owner, red on red, with 33,000 miles. He's been trying to sell for over a year (although not very hard,) and is asking $9,000 - firm. The best offer he's had is $6,500. If he doesn't get $9k, he'll just keep it. IMO, you're probably looking at $7,500 - $8,500 for your '85. Hopefully, though, you'll find a seller who will appreciate getting a nice Vette that needs very little work, and will pay accordingly for it. Good luck!
They say that sale determines the actual value. Take that for what its worth.
I bought an 85 this week with 45,000 and other than 2 stone chips and the a/c not working it is nearly flawless with new 17" wheels and tires, new exhaust, new shocks, new tune up. I paid $6400
Well, I guess there are a few minor quirks but its definitely a nice car!
