Default Headlight problems

Ive got a completely original 95 and my right headlight motor is screwing up. The light moves up and down and turns on and off just fine but the motor doesnt know how to stop, it just keeps going after it should have stopped. So I was wondering if anybody had any advice or knew what the problem was.

Thanks for any help.

You have bad bushings and/or gears. It's a relatively simple replacement, with pretty good instructions here on the forum somewhere. I actually just started having that problem with mine, but have yet to fix it

Default Do it yourself or pay $500?

I just got bent over for $500 for parts/labor for a brand new headlight motor. The two shops I took it to said that there were too many issues wrong with the motor for them to justify all the labor they'd have to charge. Instead they charged me $400 for a brand new headlight motor and $125 in labor(1.5 hours). Was it worth it...Time will tell.

Nope. It wasn't worth it, IMO. I fixed my own headlight motors for under $3 at Home Depot using nylon bushings I purchased there. My lights have been working fine for five years now.

$500+ bones would buy a month or two of gas or good tune-up parts.

I ordered a new headlamp motor from Ecklers for about $160 and replaced it myself in less than an hour. You have to pay a 'core' charge upon ordering, but they will refund the charge after you send them the bad motor.

Default C5 Headlight Stops

My nylon stop for my left headlight has split and fallen off. When turned off the light just goes up and down. Anyone have a good repair idea besides buying a whole new headlight assembly. Thanks.
