I am getting ready to paint my arm rest and need to know what kind of clear coat paint to use. Is there a specific brand that works best like duplicolor or a specific type of clear coat that I need to look for? Would like to do the job today. Any help would be appreciated.
I changed my interior from brown to black and grey a few years back and they still look great. I used a paint called SEM. You can find it at automotive paint supply stores. Most important part is the prep work. Clean everything REALLY good. When you think you have it clean enough, clean it once more. I used Orange Blast which I prefer over simple green. I also covered it with a clear coat. Places like the center console lid and by the windows get a little more wear from my resting my arms there and I wanted to try and add a layer of protection.
Before, with carpet removed.
Where the carpet was I cut some hardboard to size then covered in black vinyl.
