Default Headlight Motor replacement

So........I just finished replacing the drivers side headlight motor in my 85 corvette. Does anyhone know if there is an adjustment that needs to be made to align the headlight assembly in the hood. I removed the 6 nuts and screws as described in this forum, replaced the mottor and all works great. It just looks like the headlight is off center.

Any one have a hint?

Thanks,

Jim

The headlight cover plate has 4 Torx head screws that hold it on. The holes in the cover are slotted, so with the screws loose, you can adjust the cover.

If your headlight assembly does not close all the way, open the hood and look on the back of the assembly. There's a stop bolt you can adjust also.

Onedef92,

Thanks for the tip. I'll take a look at it, but the "off center" appearance is when the light is closed. It appears the entire assembly is not centered in the hood. My fear is that the paint will rub off on on side when opening and closing the lights.

I'll look at the torx screws. I had to remove these to replace the motor and may have mis-aligned them upon re-assembly.

Thanks again,

Jim

That's all ya' gotta' do. Gordon Killebrew showed me how to align mine two years ago during a C4 clinic at Cruise-In.
