Antenna question

I want to make a stealth antenna for my car, and get rid of the power antenna. Where can i get just the plug and coax for it? Does radio shack carry this? Thanks.

Just buy an inexpensive antenna and modify to suit your requirement.

Radio Shack should have what you need, but you may want to check out Auto Zone or Circut City. If economy is what you want go to a salvage yard :flag

Hey ya'll,
I've got an update on my antenna. I bought a windshield antenna from radioshack for $6. I instaled it and it works great! I can catch even more channels now than ever. Now, i just removed the power antenna unit from the back. I would like to take it apart, put it down, and reinstall the unit. How do i take it apart? I dont wanna break it. Thanks!!!

Do you have the PN? Does it come with any instructions? I insist on taking my car through car washes when its too cold for me to do it and I always leave the (@^ antenna up! LEt me know, and I'm off to radio shack!

Hmm..i through away the box. If you go to radio shack, just ask em for the antenna that tapes to the windshield, you cant miss it. When you do it, keep in mind that you have to ground one part. It says to ground it to a metal part if the dash. I couldnt find a part, so i ran it to the left and grounded it to a big bolt on the floor board on the passenger side. I think that bolt holds a brace to the frame. Then, unscrew the right plastic edge of the winshield frame and tape it as close to the edge as you can, then turn it at the top, run it all the way across, and cut the excess. A mod well worth $6!! :yesnod: :smash:
