Hey everyone, just visiting here from the C3 forum to ask a question for a friend that wants to sell his 86 vert. All I know is that it is a pristine red convertible 4+3 with a black top, less than 40k miles, new top,new tires and is absolutely flawless top to bottom and I mean the underside is just as clean as the top. This comes with the original Pace Car decals still in a box. He has owned it for 15 years and is going to buy a C6. Your opinions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
That would be all that I would pay personally, but I think a car like that would be able to bring closer to $10k if he is willing to wait for the right buyer.

I would agree with you also on 10k. This is by far the very nicest C4 I've ever seen. It's just a shame that the market for our cars is so bad
Thanks for the replies everyone. My friend will be very surprised and dissappointed at the current values , the condition of this car is like no other........but it is what it is . Thanks again. Crab
Don't you believe it. Vet N investments values this vehicle between $16,000 to $21,000. If you can get it for less steal it and run. Never use KBB as a source of used car values for Corvettes.
Where do some of you guys come up with this $7000-$8000 range? Did you read the description of this car? I am pretty sure if one of you had this car for sale, you sure as h-ll would not consider taking this low amount for it. C4's in that range usually have high miles need interior or paint work and have a list of things that need replaced. There are some C4's that have been taken really good care of and their value will always be higher than the daily driver used car price that some guys quote to others that are looking to buy a Vette. A car in as nice a shape as is listed here should easily be over $10,000. If it is sold for such a low price in this condition, the buyer should be very happy.

www.usedcorvettsforsale.com has them in the $12,000 to $20,000 range with $14,000 or so being about average.
I just picked up an 86 Black, Black top and Graphic sport seats with 39,000 miles on it. I would consider it in excellent condition. I paid $12,500. It was purchased from Conte's Corvettes in Vineland, NJ.
I have an 86 coupe, I was thinking of selling it, and advertised for $10,000. new paint, 1996 Collector edition seats, the interior was recolored to match, new paint, 50% tread tires, custom wheels, 89 heads, and I got an offer of $7500.
A dealer I know offered me $3500.
I said 3500! where would you get that low of a figure? and he said in order to sell it for 5 grand, I would only be able to go that high.
THe car isn't perfect, but it's closer than not.
I think it's a sign of the times.
KBB is always way low, Vette N investments is usually real optimistic. You can ask whatever you want, a lot of the guides are based on what the cars SELL for. When you get into the $20k range, there are a lot of choices from C3 to C5. Good luck.
I'm always checking what the '86s are bringing in on ebay. Here an item number to a coupe that has been re listed. Both times the bidding has gone over $12K. Item #110271989403 is currently at $12,600 with a few hours remaining
