Here's another one.

Personally I wouldn't go for a straight axel corvette, they are slow and handle like a dump truck...IMO.

Hmmm, 5 cars totalling $15k vs a $50k car? I dunno...
It depends what you want. I have a '58 and a '69. The '69 is a million times more fun to drive and the suspension is easy to upgrade. It also looks beautiful too. However, I added repro radial tires to the '58 and that car is way better to drive than most people that don't own one think. Still, it is pretty primitive and the allure is not the ride quality, its the watching people crash into each other rubbernecking at the car. It's not made for performance and road racing. Im not sure which is better.

If it was up to me to decide (and it's not, it's your choice), I would keep what I have and then find the most POS C1 or C2 I could find (for the least amount of dollars) and THEN promptly buy one of those upgraded C4 chassis and stick an LS engine and a five or six speed in it and never look back. Keep the body and interior stock, as much as I could, hidden radio, vintage air, set of Cragers or Torque Thrusts. Screw originality...I've said it before, and I'll say it again: what our memories of these car were and the reality of what they are are competely different things. One thing I'll not dispute- those cars have style, something severely lacking in the new cars of today. JMHO

[QUOTE=Vettebuyer5869;1566638621]So, you are under the impression that "more is better?" You were one of those kids who traded a Mickey Mantle rookie card for 3 Bob Wahochavitzs, weren't you?

So youre saying that the cars are worth about $3k ea? I bet the OP thinks his 5 cars are worth more than $15k It has nothing to do with "more" It has to do with usability. It seems to me he has utility vehicles & sports cars already, which by the way are both FAR more usable than any 50's era Vette. Try to see farther than to the end of your nose man.

Melting Slicks
Are you sure that will give you enough cash. Most can touch these cars without a comfortable bank roll.Unless of course your talking about a project car.

I'd be looking for a '65-66 coupe in nice driver condition instead.
Sell all your other toys to get a '60-61 though to answer your question. I don't know if it'll be enough for one you'd be happy with.
Sell now and wait until the middle of winter to buy.
