Default Help with VATS overide install

I just got the VATS override connector from Ecklers yesturday and I'm semi confused about the directions it came with. It says remove the "hush" panel. Well does this mean the plastic panel or the carpeted part just below the sterring wheel. If it's the carpet part how do I remove that to get at where I need to instal the overide. Any other tips to make this a smooth operation?

The hush panel is the carpeted panel below the steering column. Two screws on the side and four (I think) along the bottom.

The name "hush" comes from the swearing durring re-install.

The hood release will remain in place but you will have to pull the lever a bit both to get the panel off and to put it on.

I worried about breaking the tabs that hold the light in place the first time i took it off so I cut the wires and installed a quick disconnect on the wires to make it easy to pull off. Also the metal heat shield for the light is held on by little nipples that break off easily. My heat shield is now held on with rightstuff.
