i saw where someone had problem with tire pressure problems and think im having the same problems.i checked all tires and the air pressures are correct according tire specs, tire pressure still comes on
When you start the car the system goes into a test mode and lights the LTPWS and the tire press light. When these lights come on and then go out the system tested good. I have the service manual and can dirrect you from here.
hi - I have a 95 M6 LT1 - the LTPWS light came on yesterday and stays on. have owned car 2 yrs tires in great shape, done no maintanance on them - tried the info in the manual to get it out --didnt work. I saw I can take pin 5 and 6 in the fuse area under drivers seat. Havent tried it yet -- any one have suggestion
Like the Blk tape idea - but it comes on for a reason and hate dealers - $400 later we got it out, hope that is problem ( ha ha )
Will follow some of the suggestions here --keep ya informed, any other tricks?
Larry let me know what manual says-- i can do nuts and bolts, this electronic stuff as good as it is can make ya nuts...
When your LTPWS light comes on; if you shut off the engine and then restart, is the light out? Another question; have you operated in stop and go traffic? This causes the system to have issues. Shut down the engine and restart, this will reset the system. This was an early attempt at tire pressure warning and has interesting presentations. My car, a 1990, sometimes turns the LTPWS light on, it will always reset.

I was told by Discount tire last summer as I had new tires installed on the wifes 89 vert that has tire sensors and one of the old tires had a plug in it
They said moisture from the plug can short out the sensor in the wheel and ruin them (luckily mine was not damaged from the tire plug)they still work fine
I will never use another tire plug for that reason
If the LTPWS light remains on, the maintenance manual says, replace the LTPWS comand module. Additionally check for 12 volts on pin A and pin B is grounded. If the LTPWS warning light comes on and can be reset, this indicates that the comand module has not received a signal from one or more of the tire pressure sensors. On my car the light sometimes comes on and then goes out, this indicates that the module lost a sensor signal and the signal was regained. I think, as the sensors age that they lost their transmitter power. replacing the sensors would probably cure the problem. This past Saturday the temperature was 23 degrees and my LTPWS light came on. It reset, but came on again after about four miles. The tires never warmed up, thus the normal vibrations that excite the sensor transmitters were not present. Mine are the original, should have replaced them when I installed new tires. Hope this helps.
hi Larry
Never a dumb question except the one you dont ask. Where are the A and B pin located, once found do what?? -- manual doesnt say -- my light still stays on - took a long ride yesterday - have Air, no flats just the annoying light, have the blk tape ready -

The plug is located at the module behind the RH side of the instrument panel. The ign switch has to be turned to run for voltage to be applied to the module. "If the LTPWS indicator stays on after ign on but before car has been moved, check for a short to the battery in the lamp pigtail assembly. If ok, replace low tire pressure indicator module assembly". This is a dirrect quote from the maintenance manual. Improper voltage at the plug will cause the unit to not operate properly. - Larry
Another thing, If you can determine the original position of the wheels when the car was built, place them there. The sensors are matched sets and I have been told moving them can cause problems. This can cause the LTPWS light if sensor signal is lost by the module.

You've got to be kidding? There's moisture in the air that goes into the tire! The '89 was the first Year and the manufacturer was out of business before the warranty was up. Most problems are with the Receiver (for this Year), which wasn't well shielded so it can pick up noise and set off false alarms. The sensors seem to hold up fine (as long as some tire changer doesn't break one), but there are no replacements for any of it.
