Drain holes at back window
Whats everyone doing to get rid of the water that accumulates at the back window by the doors after washing? I have a syringe with a tube attached to it to remove the majority of it. What has been the experience with the drain hole kits as sold by Eckler's, Mid America and etc.

I use a straw. Suck it up & spit it out. My wife says :U but I figure I drink that same water from the kitchen faucet & the car is clean so what the hey.

I've heard pros and cons on the subject but for me, I would rather absorb the water with some paper towels than start to drill into the fiberglass.

Re: Drain holes at back window (fdcaptain)
I've heard 2 types of opinions:
1) Works great.
2) Don't know, don't want to drill my car.
Next time I spot one on sale, I'm going for it.
Cheers,

I would be concerned about drilling at that area... that is a major junction of the b-pillar and the rear quarter... it takes no time to run a paper towel through there....

Try a small can of air, like the ones used to blow dust out of computers. I just back my vette up down driveway. It's drains on it's own.

WHEN I INSTALLED MY NEW REAR WEATHERSTRIP I DIDNT GLUE IT IN ON THE BOTTOM. SO ALL I HAVE 2 DO IS LIFT IT UP & SWIPE A SHAMMY THROUGH THE AREA & IM DONE. STILL A PAIN BUT NO DRILLING! GOOD LUCK! :)

I just get up right behind it and blow. Works for me, takes all of 5 seconds.

Received the kit as a Christmas present and will be installing soon. That small a hole should not do anything bad if done right. :seeya

I put them in my 95 and they worked great. I won't drill the same holes in the GS so I blow it out.

I use paper towels and lift up the glass cause I like to dry the entire weatherstrip & edge of the glass anyway. :smash: :smash: :smash:

Good thinking with the weather stripping. It is a tight fit to get a towel in there. Sounds like we're all facing the same foe.

Re: Drain holes at back window (fdcaptain)
I take two paper towels and roll them up
to the size of a cigar, then slip the roll
into the corner where the glass meets the
weather strip. The wick effect does the rest.
A few minutes later and the channel is dry.

I installed the drain tubes on mine, work really well. If you do it, just be careful drilling.
