Default aotumatic temp. control

The buttons are getting sticky on my 89 . In fact the button to raise the temp. is mostly inoperative. Is this an at home fix it job? Or time for a replacement unit?

If you are hesitant to break it open to clean it, look into sending it to Dr. Don. He can rebuid it for about $60. Great service on the C4 auto climate control.

Is it a great difficulty factor to open and service? Is it just cleaning contacts?

Do a search on ACC or auto climate control. There are several threads on cleaning the insides here. I tried to clean my contact points with an eraser and it only made it worse, sent to Dr. Don's and they refurbish to entire unit and send back to you.

I did mine on my 96 with no problem. Realy easy job and the controls worked like a charm after a good clean and lube.
