Default 84 up conversion?

Hey,
I've fool with the C1, C2 and C3's but nothing any later model. Seems I heard something about being able to convert an 84 up to a 91-96 model.
I'm thinking about this as a Drag car so I'm not looking for exact OEM correct stuff.
Mainly, just so it looks the part of a 91-96 and be able to mount 91-96 drive train in it.
If it's possible, might be in the market for an 84 up without drive train and rear end.

Default 84 vs 96

Well,
I just thought it would be cheaper and easier to find an 84 up vs 96.

If you're buying a beater to set up for racing I think you'll find them to be in the same price range.
