Road tool kit
Any suggestions or ideas what you would pack in a small kit?

Sears has some nice tool sets that are in a small case and will work for travelling. The OEM lug wrench and jack does work but practice with it so you know how it works. Same with removing the spare tire. Pull it out and check the air pressure. Then jack the car up, remove one wheel, put the spare on and put the road wheel in the carrier.
I usually carry a jump start pack that has a small air compressor and work light. I also carry a quart of oil and a gallon of concentrated coolant. The oil will fit in the headlamp bucket well and removing one of the rear storage compartment trays allows the coolant and tools to fit. The jumper pack just sits behind a seat. I usually carry a couple of flares, a flashlight and a First Aid kit.
Other than that, a AAA card with the extended 100 miles towing coverage, and a cell phone with a 12v car charger.
And carry a small flask full of Jack Daniels for when it goes real bad and you have to wait an hour for a tow truck.
Most of the time I also have a medium size ice chest with adult beverages in case of hot weather and long wait for wrecker.
Have Fun!!

I had bought a tool kit from Sears many years ago that has almost everything you need including the 5.5mm socket(which I finally used one day to remove the coil off my GMC). I carry the spare and jack in their proper locations and a box of fuses and an extra serpentine belt.
You would be surprised what fits in a c4 that doesn't interfere with carrying extra luggage. I also have the belt tool to aid in replacing the belt if needed.
