Its been 3 weeks since I last drove my precious 84 black corvette that I have restored back from the dead over the past few years. 3 Weeks!!! I drove it today and within 10 minuts a piece of crap truck passed me from the other direction and spit a large rock and WHAM the rock hit my left fender and put 2 chips in the paint. These chips are pencil eraser sized on the clamshell just forward of the wheel well. I used black touch-up paint to discise the white chip, but now it looks like I have these wierd black booger things hanging on my fender. 3 weeks and this...Stupid truck...Stupid rock!
Can I use a buffer or somthing to get rid of these paint boogers?
Yep I would try the famous search function that everyone tells anyone that posts somthing about. Except this was to vent. The search functon does not always work...just try it (do a search).
The rock fell off a pick up truck going by me. not "kicked up by a tire" I understand accidents happen and that would have not upset me. Having a bunch of loose rocks laynig on the bed of a flatbed piece of crap is neglect and carelessness, not an accident.
It sucks, when people open their car doors into your shiny recently polished vette in the parking lot, highway stones from 18 wheelers, the neighbor's cat jumps up on your hood, poorly maintained roads causing you to bottom out your air dam, the woman in the SUV behind you gabbing away on the cell phone that isn't paying attention and might hit you, the list goes on and on. Not much you can do about it, just enjoy your car, you will never be able to keep it perfect if it gets driven regularly.
