Default ac blinking lights

The lights on my heater control unit are blinking and it only blows hot air, anyone have any ideas? I just had the alternator replaced right before this happened but i dont think that would make a difference

The Corvette Air Condition Controller has a failure diagnosis system built into it. When the Control Head starts flashing it means that a failure has been detected and a code set.

For a "How To" on retrieving the codes go to:

Most of the time the problem is low refrigerant.

The lights flashing on the control head are for codes stored in your'e hvac system.Mine did that when it was low on freon.Hopefully they didn't bump or break a line or something with freon in it when they replaced your'e alt.You need to get the codes out of the head.

i got a code 9 low freon i guess i will have it recharged but i know there is probably a leak somewhere, also i noticed that sitting still the car heats up very quickly with the ac on, something that usually only happens when the ac is off

Since the a/c isn't working properly are your'e cooling fans coming on like they normally do when you turn on the a/c? When I turn on my a/c the fans come on instantly.

no, the lights dont start blinking until the system is on for a few minutes and then i can tell the cooling fan is not working like it should. I found where the freon is leaking and let someone look at it. Will be taking it to his shop in the next couple of weeks. He is a ford mechanic by trade but he seems to know what he is doing lol
