Reset A/C codes

I had my AC recharged recently. The control head was blinking so I follwed teh trouble codes.
After hitting 00 - the code I got was 09. According to the codes this is the low freon code.

Since I had the AC recharged I figure all I need to do is reset the head unit.

Any idea how to do this?

With the ignition key in the off position disconnect the negative battery cable for one minute, reinstall.

Excuse my ignorance but do you mean I need to have the key in the ignition (turned off) when I disconnect the battery? So I have disconnect the battery without the key it will not work?

I had the same problem with my 91.....i was told to pull radio and instrument panel fuse and put it back in a minute or so..

Should work with the key removed, just trying to make sure you don't disconnect the battery when the key is on, GM says that can damage some modules.

Thanks guys for the advice. I removed the fuses and disconnected the battery. The system was reset and the air conditioner now blows ice cold.
