I have always thought that the newer front end was a bit longer, which, because of the way it continued forward, made the car look longer than it really was.
they are the same size
but i dunno i was standing next to this white 96 LT4 at a vette shop i dealt with and well it looked bigger than my car but i'm sure if i had had them side by side they would be the same size. but i'll tell ya any c4 parked next to a c5 looks much narrower atleast thats how it was for me and a buddy when we parked his 86 next to a c5.
I know that the early/late C4's really aren't much different except for the nose and tail treatments but I swear that my car parked next to a late model C4 looks smaller. The newer nose and tail does something to make the car look longer in the front and bulkier in the rear. Plus the larger diameter rims with the shorter tire sidewalls somehow adds to the effect.
I first noticed it when I parked next to a friends 96CE and was suprised that my car looked more compact. Maybe they shrink as they get older.
