I recently changed out the EGR on my '87. The car has a lot of miles, over 200K on it and the old EGR and plenum was just caked with black soot. Anyway once I got the plenum off all the emission tubing was brittle so I replaced that too but in addition to the brittle emmission tubing, the harness connector for the Engine Coolant Temperature sensor (plugs into the sensor under the plenum) literally crumbled in my hands. Not the MAT sensor as stated in my subject line. Does anyone know where I can get another connector without buying the whole wiring harness?

I need to check myself ...it's not the MAT sensor. It's the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor - UNDER PLENUM. I need to replace the connector... any ideas?
The wire I would solder on then use something to insulate that. Are you sure the SES code is from the MAT? That is the MAT under the plenum, the computers coolant sensor is the one on the front of the engine.

Yeah you're right afer all... I had it right the first time.. I needed the Manifold Air Temperature (MAT)Sensor Harness. I'm going to have a pro install it for me. He's already mentioned soldering the splice and then isulating it. I'm getting the valve guide seals replaced so I'll get it taken care of then.
This is a great site for answers to all my Vette questions... thanks to everyone for your help!
