After 2 long days, I'm done turning my black interior to red and black just like the GS. I did both door panels, the dash under the driver and passenger. Save myself alot of money.
Got the vinyl from Joann Frabrics. It cost about 10.99 per yard. I tried contact cement, but it did not work. End up buying three bottles of 3M rubber and vinyl glue #80 from Home depot. Clean the surface really good with soap and water. Then measure and cut the vinyl. Always cut it a little longer. Apply the glue to both side and let it dry for about 4 minutes. Put both sides together, use a hair dryer set to max hot for those conners. And finally trim away. Using a flat head screwdriver push the edge into the groove between the black and red vinyls. I'll get more pictures of the inside tomorrow.
For the lower dash, you need to remove both panels. Then take the old vinyl off and the carpet off the driver side. Do not take the vinyl off the doors, it's imposible. Just add the glue on top of the old door vinyl. Here are more pictures.
I tried taking the vinyl off the doors and was just imposible. Some how GM use a super heavy duty glue on these doors. So, I just spray glue on it, about 2 coats. It worked really good. Make you clean the old vinyl with soap and water or mineral spirit to get any oil or grease out of it.
