I use Rhino ramps or jack it up from the center of the rocker sill and put jack stands under that spot right before the rear wheel and on the frame rail by the front tire.
Be very careful on the passenger side because the fuel lines run under this rocker sill.
3 years ago, I purchase a Jack that goes to 24" high and 4 Jack Stands
that go to at least 21" high, from SEARS, about $300.00, I think. It'll
be one of the BEST INVESTMENTS you'll ever make for your Vette.
Could you take some dimensions on that thing? It's a great idea, and I'm thinking of getting my school's machine shop to make me one since they're so hard to find.
I have noticed that many of you use RAMPS to get your JACKS under
your car. I have not had to do this. Is this because your Vettes have
been lowered? Explain
Wow, I must be really tired! When I read the title of this post I thought lifting your vette as in ground clearance. To my defense, I just got done reading about LOWERing a vette. Ok, I'm going to bed now...
I used a 4x4 piece of wood under the back of the car and lift up on the spare tire. Goes up with no problems and doesn't even damage the tire holder. Learned that trick from MOJO.
