as for the hood, what are you doing underneath that would necessitate the hi-rise? i might look kinda unbalanced unless you add an ugly silly wing in the rear, which i could never imagine happening

Never, would I add a wing. If I ever suggest it, a swift kick in the nutz is in order.
Different strokes, for different folks, but not for me.
I like the cosmetics of the hood, and my current hood has been poorly repaired. It allows me the option of single plane intake swaps, that will not need custom plenums.

hey pete! i knew you wouldn't add one of those horrible things in the rear
As a potential buyer - repainting your car and replacing the hood will reduce your selling price or an offering price twice what you spent on your venture.
I've never been much of a fan of the stripe, but in some instances it does look real good. Impala Balko's car is one of those
And the hood. Hell ya! As long as you've got the motor to back it up -- which you do -- it looks perfect.
Impala's car was the reason I considered it.
I may eliminate the rood stripe, and may possibly remove the vertical part of the stripe on the rear bumper too. Still kicking around a few possibilities.
Due to work schedule, the car has become a 1000 mile or less (per year) ride, so I need to change it up to keep it fresh.
I think that the hood would look nice but I think it would look even more unique if you were able to put some functional screen mesh openings on the 3" tall sides of the hi-rise center section

I was thinking about that, or mounting some guages in there. Trans temp especially.

Similar to the Mustang set ups on the GTs but functional?
Hey Pete, as we all know from this site;everyone has an opinion Mine is:done with the right combo, the hood and the right wing could work well together. i'm not a big fan of wings but sometimes the right one really adds to the look. Just make it what you want it to be, as long as you like it nothing else really matters. I've had both ends of the spectrum regarding what i did to my 84, mostly good. Either way i really enjoy it! it's really fun when you've got one of one BTW-that 9.5" converter really works great thanks
again!
I personally think the stock hood has the perfect amount of bulge (unless of course you've got something under it that needs a higher hood...), but I like the GS stripe idea!
