ok i just posted a thread about the wave(let me know what you think)....anywho im having a problem with my corvette.....shes been doing alright performance wise, but lately she's been not starting...not its NOT the fuel pump, we have it directly connected, nullified the fusible link...only because there was a huge problem....so gas is gettin from the tank with the pump to the engine (fuel rails), and its strong...because we bought AC/DELCO pump, and measured its psi....my mechanic had the vette for the weekend and said he caught it without a spark....because i was thinkin maybe its a leaky injector(s) and my mechanic said no, the injectors are strong....then we went over the fuel pump again, he said no its super strong. so now its leaves us to the spark...what is that called and how hard is it for a layman to replace it. and does anyone know if this will cure the problem....or is there something that shorting my already current spark....because it starts most of the time...but there are days were no matter what it isnt starting....its soooooooo AGGRAVATING!!!!!!!!! please help!!.....if isnt a spark what do you think it is?!?!
yeah, my mechanic has the car rite now, making some final touches to the trans....im gunna take it to autozone.....its gotta be a spark issue (considering the fact that my mechanic caught it without a spark once or twice) and secondly my injectors are working fine....once the car starts i get great power, i dont feel like im being robbed of performance....i just dont want to replace injectors (even tho they probably should be changed because of wear/age)..because they are expensive...im going to tell my mechanic about the ICM and see what he knows about that...thanks...ill let you know what happens!
ok so i dont wanna say the car is fixed, but shes starting up every time...KNOCK ON WOOD.....and i believe you were right bout the ICM....my mechanic went into the distributor and saw the icm took it out....it was cooked....and not to mention it wasnt AC/Delco! it was made in hongkong some no name part....THATS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN PEOPLE TAKE SHORTCUTS!!!.....ah well...things are going ok...hopefully for now....i gotta have my tranny looked at now! yay. haha. cant wait to see the bill on this one.
