Default PKE Transmitters

Have you guys had any trouble with the PKE transmitters breaking where the key ring attaches at. I am on my second transmitter in 3 years now  but the only thing wrong the the transmitter is the key ring will not attach to them now. I have epoxied, super glued and I can't find a way to attach the part on top of the transmitter. Someone must make something to either put the transmitter in witha key ring attached or a new body that you can use.

Any suggestions?

Yes, mine broke, it's a common thing, piece of crap. They should do like FORD and have a little metal ring.

so are you saying that the transmitter just has a keyring in the lil hole?? ok i suggest that the next transmitter ya buy get two keyrings one very very very small iddy biddy one and one big one. the small lil one will hook onto the transmitter and then the big one will hook onto the lil one..... that should keep em from breaking this is exactly what i had done to my other cars' security system remotes and it works great give it a try.

Yes, mine broke as well. I refused to pay out the nose for a new one just carried the fob in my pocket for awhile, then said screw it, and use the keys to open to door. Whattaya know... it works!!!

They could definitely have designed the key ring attachment better.

Thats a good idea, Currently I have both of my transmitters sitting with epoxy on them, hopeing that they will dry hard enough to quit breaking. I am gonna try the small ring like you suggested, maybe it will give me a little more life out of mine.

Someone ought to come up with a case or something to put these things in, kinda like a cell phone case.

My clip broke and I had to hold it together with tape. Then the key ring snaped the plastic. I ended up buying 2 of them from gmpartsdirect.com. Now I'm just very careful with it. You're right though, poor design.

yep if that epoxy holds them together the small ring with the big ring will definately help also try not to keep those transmitters in pockets on pants like jeans as they are usually tight i usually keep keys in my jacket pockets and so forth just make sure ya keep em where theres no pressure on them as this will help them from getting scratched up and breaking again.

hope it works out for you

No more opinions or fixes??? Come on guys someone has to make something to fix these little gold priced items. Maybe I can go to a local seamstress that works with leather and have a key ring sewed on a pouch like thingy to hold the transmitter .

Same thing happened to mine on the '94; someone told me that they drilled a hole through the whole thing (obviously location is critical) and then just stuck the key ring through the hole...
