Just changed all the bulbs in my instrument cluster today. I ended up changing not only the bulb, but the entire bulb/socket. The sockets looked like burnt charcoal compared to the new ones. Actually the bulbs were good, but acted up because the sockets were so corroded and burnt because of the heat. Luckily the new sockets came with the 882 bulbs I bought.
While i had the instrument cluster out and apart I ended changing the #74 bulbs that light up the high beam indicator and turn signals.
If you ever have to change your bulbs, take the extra time, yank the cluster, and change the sockets too.
got them from the local auto supply house. Just ask for the 882 bulb w/socket. I think DaveP85C4 is right, the 882 bulb ispurchased together with the socket. If its not, ask for the socket.Thats the main culprit.
I did this about 3 months ago and NAPA was the only parts store that carried the socket(solo) and the socket with the bulb included. They also sold just the bulb as well. AutoZone andKragen didn't have any of the before mentioned and I went to more than one store for each place too.

Makes a huge diference.
i dont remember how many times i took my cluster apart just to fix one bulb that would always go out. Wiggle it a little bit and it would work. For about a week, until i either hit the top of the dash or took it apart again.
Last time I decided to take my time, yank the cluster and change the all the sockets also as well as bulbs.
