Default PKE Issue 1996 CE LT1

I have a issue with my 1996 CE LT1 car. The car was sitting for two weeks. Yesterday was a nice day to go for a drive. Turned the key and nothing, dead and no lights. Put a charger on for 30 minutes had lights and started the car. happy man.

The problem was I left my satellite radio on which has direct current.
anyway the radio lost the pre-set stations no big deal. the issue is the alarm which is not workng.

Replaced the battery on the transmitter, the hatch opens with the transmitter, the horn works the security light comes on but flashes is that OK, I don't remember if it was flashing prior to the dead battery.

Do I need to reset the transmitter to the car.

Thanks for your help on the issue

I'd say try resetting the transmitter, can't hurt.

Thanks for the reply, I can't believe only one person repied to this issue. Are you telling me one person had a possible fix or even to agree with the reply. There are many theads out there which this forum repies to which are nonsense. Their should be more senior members able to have a solution to this issue.

Thanks

Disconnecting the battery does not effect my PKE.

I believe the system is "off".

Hold down the door button down until you hear/see the door locks cycle.

After the locks cycle turn on the key. If the PKE is "on" it will display in the lower left corner of the DIC.

If you want to program which door opens in passive-put key in ignition, donot turn "on" & hold the door button "down" until you get the door opening sequence you want.

I'm doing this from memory & at my age it can be a problem???????

Thanks for the quick reply -

I got it to work

I put the key into ignition, but I didn't turn it on.

Pressed the door on the transmitter until the door locks cycled, which was about 2 seconds. Opened the door walked away at 5 feet the doors locked and the horn did it's thing. It sounds like we are on the same page with your reply.

Back to normal, need to be a little more careful
