Welcome

Congrats on your birthday present

As was posted, throw the wheels that you like on it, maybe a set of mufflers for the "tone" that you want and drive it. Once you start hot-rodding it may very well become an obsession so try to enjoy the car first because by the time that you are done trying to go faster it may not be comfortable any more

Only joking...there are many very fast, comfortable drivers on here.

Man, you are only 40, I'm 40 and you are making me feel handicap. No way man, you are way to young to feel old. Isn't mid-life crisis start with your first social security check?
Get the 95 and start the Mod Project, many of us in here will help you. Now, no matter what-do not listen, do not pay attention and do not buy the airfoil.

Man you guys are great, I feel younger already. Plus I just got back from an afternoon spin in the Vette! Love that feeling!
I am going to stick with you guys on the mods. I'll do the wheels and tires and exhaust. Take my time on the rest if it ever comes.
I found a sound bite of the BB system. Really like that sound. Hey and no Air Foils!! I got it!

It's funny how many people on here are just turning 40. I also will hit that mark here in a couple of weeks. I too wanted a vette so bad when I was in high school back in the mid 80's. I bought this Grand Sport back in May of this year. It has been a blast to drive all summer.

I hope you have a lot of fun with yours also.

I'm 48 and have owned my Vette for a year. Everything still works but I have to admit that falling in and climbing out of my C4 is geared towards the younger, non-arthritic population.

I love the car. I could care less what others think.

So why is it considered a "midlife crisis" if a middle-aged guy gets a Vette but the guy who buys a Ford F-350 with a lift kit (who will never leave pavement) doesn't get the same scrutiny?

Still, middle-aged guys get a sports car and a twenty-something stripper as a trophy mistress. Women have hot flashes and gain weight. I like guys mid-life crisis much better!

I agree, getting a Vette at 40 is a good mid-life crisis. I got my LT1 when I was 49, and my 86 when I was 45 and my second motorcycle when I was 44, my first one when I was 42,my second plane when I was 43, my IROC when I was 41, went to law school when I was 35, my Z-28 when I was 29, my first plane when i was 25, my Porsche when i was 22, my chevelle when I was, 17, this has been a really long midlife crisis. I just hope it doesn't end.........

The first time I got into and then out of my 89 I felt about 90. Im 48 But you do get used to it. I climb in and out pretty gracefully now.
