Default Drivers Door Panel

I have a 1995 that I have issues with the drivers door panel. I took the panel off and found that the supports on the top where split so I cut them out on a V and folded the top of the panel over more and then fiberglassed it back together. It worked ok for about a week and then it slipped off the rail on the top again. When I took the door panel off the fiberglass is holding good yet the door panel keeps pulling off the rail on the top of the door.Does anyone have a good fix or repair for this problem?

It sound like you are having a similar problem that I had on the passenger side door on my 94. From what I understand between the 93 and 94 models one screw was eliminated from each door panel. This was on the outside edge of the panel. The good news is that it is not difficult to add the screw yourself. All you need is a door trim screw and a screw retainer. The retainers are available for about $1 each from Eckler's or Corvette Central. If you remove the panel, you can see the slot for the retainer near the door latch area. The retainer fits right in the opening on the door. You will need to drill a hole in the door panel about 1-inch from the edge for the screw. My passenger door panel has not popped out at the top since I added the screw.

Good luck.

There have been several posts on this issue here. Do a search for "door panel" and you will find them. Most of the guys/gals just make some braces from metal or palstic and pop rivet them to support the ribs. Doesn't look too impressive, but works well. Once the panel is back on you can't tell it has ben repaired.

i have the same problem on my pass side... I stuck a piece of industrial strength velcro in that valley and on the backside of the Door pannel and it holds it quite well even with my fiance slamming the door as a hard as humanly possible.

I am sorry I dont but all i did was take the Door pannel off and I wipped the lip down with alcohol and put the fuzzy part of the velcro on it then I wiped he under side of the door pannel where it should mate up with alcohol and put the hook part of the velcro on it... I used about a 4 inch piece and it holds very well and its not a permenant mod that required doing major alterations like drilling or glueing.
