Hey guys I presently have a 1996 Corvette coupe LT1 Torch red
with just 17k original miles. It looks like a brand new 96' no scratches
or wear. No problems it runs great. I was debating maybe getting a
2003 or 2004 C5. The only thing... Is it worth switch. This 1996 runs great and I could get a C5 that might have issues. Whats would you do??? Is it better to go newer??
I kept my torch Red C4 convertible and it compliments my torch red C5 coupe. Nothing like owning two corvettes unless it is owning three corvettes or more. My favorite? The one I am driving at the time.
I don't mean to sound like an a$$ but why don't you drive the car you already have? 17k miles in just 12 years? Oh, and I love the C5, but when I drove a couple (1999 and 2001) they both felt way too cheap on the inside. They also felt too smooth for me. I wanted something more brutish. No doubt my 1990 is slower, but it was cheap and is just plan ol' more fun to drive.
If I were you, I'd sell that 96 to me for current CF lowball guesstimate of $8k. Take the cash and buy what you like, (of course you'll need to add some to it).
I guess the grass isnt greener on the other side.
My 96 runs great so maybe I will keep for awhile longer.
I was afraid to jump into a C5 because of the issues of that
vette. column lock, rocking seat, oil and fuel sending units, and
leaky diff. So maybe I had better just appreciate what I have.
Don't sell it. Purchase the newer car and keep that low milage C4. When I purchased my new C6, I kept my Quazar Blue 1990 CP., that has just turned 18,000 miles last week. I certainly would not sell it at todays prices, mine is worth a lot more to me.
