Default Duh

Had my 92 coupe for almost two years now. Sometimes a nice little run is going to pick up a case of 24 beer, which easily fits in the otherwise nearly useless cargo area.

When I arrive at the beer store parking lot, I think in advance. I open the center console and press the yellow button to release the hatch, so it will be open and ready for me to place my new case of beer inside the cargo area. Boy am I ever smart. That way I don't have to put the case of beer on the ground, reach into the car, open the console and press the button!

Today I was checking out my passenger door when it was open and saw a little button with a trunk release symbol on it. Hmmm. There was one on the driver's side too. Curious, I pressed one of them.

Duh...

Don't feel too badly.

My first reaction was, "Why didn't he just use the fob?" Then I looked it up and saw that the PKE started in '93.

Next, I knew that I only had a release on the driver's door on my '93, but I went out to the car to see how that was handled (The passenger door has a blanking plate on it). While I was looking at that, I realized for the first time that the arm-rests are different colors. The one on the driver's door is black, but the one on the passenger's door matches the interior. Apparently, they're supposed to be that way.

92 I believe was the last year for the passenger side Glass release as well. Well im fairly certain lol. Dont feel bad folks have driven for years in the 94-96s not realizing the door armrests pull up for storage due to the loss of the glovebox for the passenger side airbag
