I have a 1992 and on the build sheet it has the build date as 92/143. My question is how does Chevrolet calculate the 143 number and what date would this be? It can't be that they count every day because it doesn't add up. I know that the 1,000,000 th Corvette was built on July 2, 1992 and that build sheet has 92/155 on it. Does anyone know how they count their calendar days????

I'm going to assume that the dates are "Julian" from a "perpetual" day calendar. That should be correct because the "order date" for a build around July 1 would be initiated several days earlier. 155 is June 4 for a conventional year and a leap year would make 155 June 3. 143 would be May 23 or May 22. I do believe that '92 would have been a "leap year"!
I'd be interested in comparing some records! Post the last eight of your VIN and I'll check a couple dates!
Your car is a '92 so I added an "N" to the front of the last 7. That should be correct.
Your build sheet you mentioned showed 92/143 so I'd guess that's the "order/build", your SPO label that I use references build day as 8 Jun '92 which would be 160 in a leap year. 17 days from order to build seems logical!! Your door certification label should display 6/92.
