Default Front Windshield Replacement Cost?

I was quoted by a windshield repair shop a price of $220.00 for a new front windshield.

Does this sound like a good price?

BTW, My windshield has a crack across the whole thing. I left it alone for a couple of months but it just kept getting longer and it just keeps getting worse.

I take it from the search I did that it is a good price.

I didn't ask if it was Aftermarket (I'm sure it is), but they did say it comes with a warranty.

220.00 sounds about right.
Your insurance should take of it.

Correct ZR-1 windshield is over $1K, if you can find one. Regular C4 will fit also, which many ZR-1 owners do.

220 is low in my opinion, i just had one put in for 340 (only cost me 100 as that is my insurance decutible) but bill total was 340+tax

I just had mine done insurance picked up cost $540.00. However that included the cost of a new molding also mine could not be reused. Make sure they don’t screw up your reveals on the sides & top of glass they cost big money to replace those go from $170.00 drivers side to $260.00 for the center section.

The lowest price means jack when they do a half assed job. And go with all new retainers. The old ones get bend upon removal, and it's time consuming to scrape off all old adhesive off just to reuse them. Then you have potential leak points because they are tweaked.

You should be looking for shop that has C4 experience, not just the lowest price you can find. I went with the lowest price quote, and had to fix a bunch of their mistakes myself.

These guys had never done a C4 glass apperently, and their work showed. After fixing their mistakes myself because I did not want them near my car again, they should have paid instead.

86Pacer has a good point. I paid $280.00 6 years ago as a part of a paint job. Then that was a real good deal. $220.00 just seems too low for a quality replacement. If it works out you made a real deal.

About 6 months ago I had the windshield in my 95 replaced in the parking lot at work with PPG glass in about 3 hours. I had insisted on PPG glass. The windshield was removed from the bottom with only the side trim removed, the new glass was slid in from the bottom. No trim was bent no trim was replaced ..... over 5,000miles driven in the rain since ... no leaks.

$225 for the glass $200 for the labor. The installer was recomended by my local speed shop.
