If your using an allen wrench, then your targa top bolts have been changed to socket head cap screws. The torx advice above will only work if the right bolts are installed like orginal. Allen wrench would not be removing the bolts if they where OEM. If they are you stand a good chance of stripping or rounding out the head.
As for my set-up I purchased a 3.5 long T40 torx bit to use along with a Skill IXO mini power driver(lithum-Ion). Stays charged all summer, fits in console compartment.
t-40 bit, make sure it's long enough to reach into the hole on the front screws.
I use ( when i have to take the top out ) a T-30 Torx bit and a Black-N-Decker power ratchet wrench or a Craftsman cordless screw-gun( if its charged up )

Me, too, with a Black and Decker power screwdriver and a Torx bit. Total cost $12, plus 10 minutes for me to grind down the bit to fit into the screwdriver.
Hi! You can definitely remove and install the Targa top on a C4 by yourself, though it can be easier with someone helping the first few times to avoid scratches or misalignment. Make sure the latches and seals are in good condition, as that really helps prevent leaks. I’ve also found that even general car resources, like Boston Logan Car Service, often have useful tips or guides on handling tops and other parts safely. Do you plan on driving the C4 daily, or mostly for weekend cruises? That might change how often you’ll need to take the top on and off.
