In Ecklers and Mid America I have seen these throttle position sensor switches that just plug in to the TPS switch and is supposed to change the readings it sends. Does anyone have one and are the benifits worth $100.00??
Save your money and just put your foot to the floor. The only thing it does is fool the computer into thinking it is in a WOT condition. Putting your foot to the floor does the same. :D
Re: High performance TPS switch - Does it work? (Quinn)
Hey Quinn,
Good thing you asked the forum before spending money on anything.ABout 99% of those add on parts do not make any real HP.
Dont waste your money on an air foil, spacers,AFPR,larger TB's and etc.
The ony time those mods seem to work are on cars that have alot of modifcations done to them.
The exhaust kits are OK,they sound better and sometimes free up a little choked back power the factory exhaust may have been holding back.
But the real gains are inside the engine and etc.Until you have a better camshaft, ported heads or high flow heads, stroker engine maybe, then will the real gains come in from some of those parts.
If you want a computer chip, see craig marcho n the forum, dont buy the hypertech or the ADS chips, etc. The ones in the magazines are hit and miss for every car out there.
Plus alot of moola.
I wish i had the forum some years back when I was fooled by the catalogs and magazines that many of those parts make power but inreality caused more headaches for me and loss of money.
I even took the K&N air filter out and put the stocker backin and drove the car, felt no difference.
Just wanted to pass that along...when I see something new,or need to know, most of the guys who tried them have been helpful with advice here. Can save ya alot of money in the long run.Until you get into the motor, leave the car stock and enjoy it.Less problems that way.
:)
