Default Electric Fan problem

Hi
I'm new to the forum. I have a 1993 40th addition vet. The electric fans never come on. The secondary fan comes on only when the AC is running. The analog temp gage gets to the notch before 260 and the ditg temp gage reads 5 to 6 degrees higher. Is this normal? I drive the car around without the fans coming on and the car stays cool. But if I idle the temp does go up. Is the car just not getting warm enough for the fans to kick in? Any suggestions?

Fan should kick around 225
Something is wrong so do the basics first. Start with fuses and /or connections and go from there
If you don't own the shop manual now would be a good time to get one, a 15 year old car will break now and then

I found that the secondary fan fuse was blown so I replaced it and let the car warm up to 227 and none of the fans kicked on. I turned on the AC and both fans came on then I turned off the AC and turned it on again and the only fan that came on was the primary fan and the secondary fan fuse blew again. The primary fan still does not kick on by itself only on with the AC running. Could it be a relay, temp censer or a bad fan?

I didn't think the fan's ran at all unless the AC was running or the temp gets to 228.

I know it won't make you feel better, but the LT1 C4's do tend to run hot. I have owned many other cars and all of them, the needle on the temperature always stayed to the cool half of the dial. It has taken some getting used to for me-it's almost like the car is crying wolf. One of these days, it may really be overheating and I am scared I'll miss it.

Also, your gauge seems to be like mine. My analog gauge almost always runs hotter than the digital gauge as there are two sensors at two different parts of the engine. Also, FYI, the analog gauge is NOT linear. I think the has marks are actually 100-185-210-235-260.
