Default Hood Release - Not!

HELP!!

I was working on the hood releases on my 92 vette. I kept thinking to make sure that I reconnect the release cable. I completed the work, made sure that all bolts were tight and collected my tools. I shut the hood and took a half step ant the OMG! or something like that. I has failed to connect the release cable on the driver side.

So I checked the forum and found several posts regarding emergency release cable ties (Good Info) and the special tool that you either love or hate. I tried removing the front wheel and inner-liner and reaching over the battery but I am blocked by the computer and the cruise control. Anybody else used this method with success!

Thanks,
Steve

You can try this, it worked for me and it wasn't luck either, cause I did it on a friends car also after someone showed me the trick at dealership.

Take metal coat hanger and fold it. Just pull it like you where pulling a bow. Than end with the curve give it slight curve, and stick it into the hood where your latch is you can snake it down past your rubber seal without any damage to the hood seal, and start fishing by pulling it back, after few pulls you will know where the hook is and just pull back gently and it will release.

Good luck
