Buying a new one was the only way to go for me because the old one was lifting up along the edges and the bottom plastic plate was cracked. They aren't made well. Even the new one needed to be glued in a few places. This thread shows the before and after.
hmm i got no clue, R94 but yeah bluevette88 has done it
my lids kinda damaged too the vinyl and all is alright but the plastic plate on the other side of the lid where the light and the rpo sticker is well theres a crack there i guess some idiot who had the car before leaned onto the armrest with a tad too much weight... they really aren't that sturdy :cry
I never tried recovering my lid but I was able to fix where it was coming apart on the passenger side. The foam was coming apart and not allowing me to open the lid without it catching on the side of the console. I took the lid off, pulled the vinyl down into position, drilled small holes and inserted some really small screws to hold it in place. It's working, for now, but for how long, nobody knows. Eventually I'll be buying a new lid.
