Default Help | Car Covers

I am new to this Corvette forum and looking for your collective wisdom.

If I were to store my 86 outside for a while, would it be wise to cover it with one of thoses blue plastic poly tarps?

It's been known to be windy and wet where it'll be stored for the winter.

Thanks again for your thoughts.

I would say no. I wouldn't be surprised if the tarp damaged the paint. Another member here let a friend store a Mustang at his house - outdoors with a car cover. I spent a 4 or 5 hours buffing out the chafe marks and water marks from the cover. It was a mess.

It is hard to answer when you don't state what part of the country you are in.

Please, do NOT cover your vette with a blue plastic tarp. It really is not a good idea, and will certainly damage your paint.

Invest in a good quality car cover. For outdoor protection don't go with a cheap one.
