Default ENGINE SUSPENSION CRADLE replacement?

i need to swap out a bent front suspension/engine cradle out of my 1990 c4, with an L-98.
Has any one tried removing the front cradle, without removing the engine from the car?
I have the idea, that i can support the car on jack stands high enough to slide out the whole front suspension out from under the car. Supporting the engine/trans with a transmission jack and a floor jack.

more info: i can not fit an engine puller in my low ceiling garage, and i thought it would just get in the way when pulling the suspension.

anyone have any suggestions or ideas?

No ideas but I would say that considering that the cross-member is welded to everything else there it would be much easier to get the engine out of the way. I don't know how low you ceiling is but if you can open your hood you should have enough room to get the engine out
