I am sure this question has probably been beatin to death.
And I am sure most of you will think it is a stupid question to ask.
But I am fairly new to corvettes, and I can't seem to find exactly what I am looking using the search function.
So here is the question:
I have an 85 corvette, I got a sweet deal on some c5 wheels. I went to go get tires/rims installed earlier today, but the tire salesman told me putting the wheels on the car would be a really bad idea as the offset is completely different.
Yet in other threads I have seen on this forum I see several C4 corvettes with the C5 wheels on them. Is this because they are newer years? I read somewhere that the offset changed in 87/88 (forget which)
1" hub centric spacers will also work and are more readily available if not cheaper. C5's have a slightly higher offset in the rear than late c4's so this might be the better way to go.
