I have seen pics on this forum of 'vettes up on jack stands. This might be a really dumb question, but how the heck do I get the rear end of my 'vette on the stands, on that little area just forward of the rear wheels, if my floor jack is already taking up that space?
BTW, I have been and doing many searches on various topics and must say THIS FORUM IS GREAT! I hear little squeeks, bumps and thumps in the rear end area of my car and through reading several great posts on the subject I think it is time to tackle the job of replacing wheel bearings and u-joints. With all the fine pics and instructions that have been posted it doesn't seem to be too hard of a job. Just a bit time consuming.
If you look, the rails go inward just after the factory-marked jacking points. I put the jack on the factory points, then the jackstands on the rails inboard of that.
Also, there was a nifty little device called Jack-A-Vette that allowed you to jack up the diff, letting you put jackstands on the factory jack points, and do it a lot faster! I think they still make them, not sure of where to get one tho.

I see. I was just so afraid I was going to bend something on my 'baby'. I have using the area that goes inward thinking that was the factory jack point.
