Hi there,
My father is getting clutch changed on his 89 ZF6. He asked me what else is to do when doing the job.
I said, change rear main seal. Is this difficult to do? Does it require pulling the flywheel off?
Second, recommended flush of clutch hydraulic with DOT4 fluid. The main issue was using brake fluid in a tin and he says he can only find DOT4.
Third, recommended he does a fluid change of the differential with regular 80W90 or 90 hypoid GL5 gear oil and KW Positrac additive. How much gear oil is needed? 2 quarts?
Fourth, his Corvette specialist uses ATF in the transmission.-) Is this OK to use in ZF6? I recommended he find the Castrol 10W60 or 5W30 synthetic, but does it really matter?
He has a pint of power steering fluid, can he mix it with regular ATF and use in power steering?
