Default Newer seats?

okay I have a 1985 corvette and the seats have seen way better days! My question is, Is there anyway to put newer vette seats in my 85 without much effort? Like some newer c4(Like 96 seats) or even c5 seats?

Any C4 seats should fit just fine. 1984-1996.

Just finishing up the interior on a friends 1985 Corvette. Changed from gray to black. I used a set of seats from a C5 Corvette. I used the C4 tracks, I just had to drill 2 new holes on the C5 seat frames. Very easy and they really look great in the car. I do have pics if you want to see how the seats look in a C4.

Here are a few pictures. Owner just had a GM crate motor installed. I'm doing the interior and weatherstripping (should have taken a couple before pictures). Just waiting on a few parts to wrap it up. I found the seats on ebay for $260.00.

Here is a C3 that I did:

I don't understand why you would want to put c5 seats in an early c4. I believe the early c4 seats have better lateral support and have much better leather quality than c5 seats. If c4 seats wouldn't look so out of place in my c5 they would be in there now.

I rebuilt (new foam) and recovered my wife's C3 seats - never done upholstery before in my life - only took one movie and a couple a brewskies each as I sat in a chair, watched a Clint Eastwood movie, and installed new stays n "hog rings". They came out friggin fantastic, if I do say so myself! I bought the covers from Ekler's along with the recommended installation kit and a couple of simple tools. When you take the old covers off, you see how and where to go about putting them together again. Start to finish, about 2 hours each.

Worth a thought!

The C5 seats are much friendlier to "big boys" Trust me,when you have a 20" neck the rest of you is wide also.I guess if you do spirited canyon driving or track days the C4 sport seats are great, but for just cruising they are not the most comfortable imho.I have the power sports and would love to put C5's in my '90.

How Much? Plus shipping. Mine are standard, Grey, and ripped. Do you think Saddle would look OK? Is the Sport Seat different?

I strongly suggest Wilcox or Corvette America. This summer I ordered new foam & leather from Wilcox for my sport seats. It was a real "learning curve" but well worth the effort.

If you have std seats you can order new leather mounted onto new foam (recommended).
