Default Need HELP!!

Does any one have instructions for removing the radio bezel and shifter plate on a 96? I'll be installing my CF units for a friend and have not done this on a C4 before. Looks pretty simple but I wanted a step by step as the CF radio and shifter plate are going in the editor at Vette magazine's car and should be a future DIY in the mag. Thanks for your help.
Pat

BTW - I'm working on a CF breadbox eliminator plate -stay tuned.....

I took out the whole console area to remove the radio. Does that count? I have a 1996 CE.

For the shifter plate there is one small torque head screw in the front ashtray. In the stoarge compt lift the little piece of carpet and you will see two screws. You might have to remove the storage compt lid as the covere has to lift and slide to the rear to come out. for the shifter **** pry the button off and you will see an external snap ring, get the ring off and the **** pulls off.

For the radio trim once the shifter cover is off you will see two screws at the bottom. To get to the top screw you have to remove the AC vent if I am remembering properly. The screw is definitely in/or behind the ac vent, just not sure if you can reach it without 'popping' the vent off.

I agree, and that snap ring is a bear to get a hold of, took me forever to get mine off. I also think that you do indeed need to remove the ac vent.
