I don't have them in my 87' vert either. As far as I can tell the 86-89 vert's did not get them but when the interior was redesigned for 90' then the Vert's got them back. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. By the way the bins are there you just don't have doors to access them and if you ever need to work on the "guts" of your ABS system you will find it is in the bin behind your drivers seat. :yesnod:
when I open the little doors behind my saets, inside the compartments are black plastic trays. Is this what you guys are talking about or do you mean you don't even have the hatch doors at all?
I am not sure what anyone means either. I do know that the 95s I test drove had only one storage door that would open, the one on the passenger side. IIRC my 1991 had two storage bins, and my moms 1987 has two. My moms is odd though, in the passenger side the compartment is about a foot and a half deep and has a cd changer! I know the changer is aftermarket, but I dont know if the enclosure is. Can anyone provide some useful info? If it is an aftermarket job I'm definitely having it done on my 1994. :yesnod:
my storage bins each have palstic trays that fit into them and are removed simply by pulling them out. This reveals the entire storage bin which are both pretty deep.
your mum's 87 vettes passenger side storage box should have a tray and yes when you pull it out its pretty deep its actually meant to hold your jack and lug wrench but yes its awesome for hiding a changer in aswell. and on the driver side there is a storage space too but only in the tray if you pull the tray out you will see theres no room to really go anything cuz i believe your ABS controller or something is there and so is the FM reciever for your radio or something like that.
