Default new sound system

Hi all!

Need some advice/recommendation on upgrading my radio/sound system. My '90 roadster has orginal Bose system with an add on cd changer and I'd like to get rid of everything (speakers too) and get a decent system. One other note: currently whenever I try to turn on radio the fuse blows so something in the system is shorted anyway, so good time to go in their and "take out the garbage"!

Would appreciate any comments and recommendations and thanks in advance. BTW, I'll probably hire out this job but wanted to ask the experts here for advice.

if you plan on doing it yourself and plan to use a single DIN radio, you'll need a Metra 99-3051 install kit....might as well order one online, that's the only place I've found them.Mine had a nice system installed when I bought it..and the $400 Pioneer shot craps within the year,so I'm trying to replace it,the stereo that's in it is a double DIN,trying to find the kit for a single din has been a nightmare.

I just did mine last month.....let me know if you have any issues installing a new system. I was going to go with Alpine, but I was able to get a very sweet deal on a Kenwood entire system and now my car rocks, i don't have to worry about cruising down the street with a weak stereo.
