Are you planning on doing the work yourself or a mechanic?

Are you certain its the pump leaking at the weep hole?

If it is the pump, you can very easily replace it in 2-4 hrs. depending on your aptitude.

You will need to remove the A/C bracket from the two studs on the right side of the pump (you do not have to break the A/C lines ).

On my 90, a hose passes through the bracket , remove this from the pump prior to attempting to move the A/C bracket forward.

There are several other nuts and bolts, First relieve the fuel pressure and disconnect the lines at the fuel rail, the serpentine belt tensioner bolt and the A.I.R pump mounting nuts. Two bolts at the top of the bracket, under the A.I.R. pump. Two braces, one horizontal from the bracket to the stud on the pump. The other from the bracket downward. On this one, you must remove the bolt at the bracket(the nut is welded to the brace).Once removed you should be able to push the compressor and bracket forward for access.

Not that hard, just have some patience, you can do it!

If you dont have a FSM and need torque specs., PM me.

Just did this same job on my '91. I don't know if there are any significant differences between the 1990 and 1991 engine bay and torque specifications, but everything he listed above was the same. I also have an Factory Service Manual (FSM) and TONS of high-resolution pictures of the job on a 1991 if you want any. I don't have any qualms about scanning the pertinent pages out of my '91 FSM if you prefer those over real-life photos.

Yep i`ll be doing the work myself,it`s the pump for sure, i wiped the whole area clean then blew it down with an airline & sure enough it started dripping from behind the pulley.

many thanks for the instructions, hope these are the ones that avoid skinned knuckles & bad language

and just a reminder.... there is a steel beam that connects to the bottom of the ac bracket. do not forget to reattach it. it is hard to see and i did forget to reinstall it one time because i completely overlooked it. and the ac bracket snapped in 2 places from the torque of the belt on the tensioner pulley. just a heads up. the brackets are hard to find. this is a frustrating job the first time. and it makes it easier to remove the upper inner piece of the fenderwell to reach the bottom bolts attaching the ac. i think its 6 or 7 bolts, 10mm. of course you will only have to do that if you want to, its not necessary to remove the ac from the bracket.... really just loosen the bottom left bolt to relieve its hold on the other steel crossbeam. good luck
