They always send you a spare bearing.....check the new one they send and you'll see. 
Really its just the rotor balancer.

MSD just sent me the same optispark back. They told me on the phone that they were gonna reuse the billet piece and rebuild everything 
My 1 year warranty has turned into 30 day warranty and get same optispark cap rotor back...

I installed one in my LT1 a year ago and when I ride it with "the Varmits" we drive hard and the MSD is working good.
I'd say this is my old Dynaspark (Crapspark) story. My Dynaspark was a piece of SHHT but many other LT owners would say what I'm saying about the MSD..."mine works great".
I feel your pain because I know the work you have to go thru to get it out. Specially the coolant mess...
Who invented the Optic? Some flunked engineer did (GPA 1.99).

I would be on the phone working my way up the food chain. Maybe they are lossing too much money on the failures to provide a warranty anymore.
