They always send you a spare bearing.....check the new one they send and you'll see. Really its just the rotor balancer.

Mine's still going after 2 years, just like the bunny.

MSD just sent me the same optispark back. They told me on the phone that they were gonna reuse the billet piece and rebuild everything My 1 year warranty has turned into 30 day warranty and get same optispark cap rotor back...

I installed one in my LT1 a year ago and when I ride it with "the Varmits" we drive hard and the MSD is working good.

I'd say this is my old Dynaspark (Crapspark) story. My Dynaspark was a piece of SHHT but many other LT owners would say what I'm saying about the MSD..."mine works great".

I feel your pain because I know the work you have to go thru to get it out. Specially the coolant mess...

Who invented the Optic? Some flunked engineer did (GPA 1.99).

Mine got me to 150,000 miles. They can't be too terrible.

Actually I think it was Mitsubishi. The first ones I saw appear were on the 3.0L V-6's in the early 90's. They worked nearly flawless as long as you kept a smooth rotor in them. With a serrated rotor the car would go absolutely insane, but as far as the optics they rarely failed. This could not be said for the valve guides in these engines though. Funny thing is they had all kinds of power no matter what.

I would be on the phone working my way up the food chain. Maybe they are lossing too much money on the failures to provide a warranty anymore.
