Default Weights, curb weight, axle weights

Hi there,

I need to find information on the 1989 Corvette, curb weight (3229lb?), maximum permissible weight, front and rear axle maximum weights for 1989 C4 w/ ZF6 manual.

Isn't the max permissible written somewhere on the car? Haven't looked for it on my Vette yet, but my old car had a sticker in the door sill with tire pressures and max weight.

IF the car hasn't been repainted with maybe a color change, there should be a door sticker that shows the shipping weights for the front axle and rear axle and a total gross weight.

For my '87, the front axle weight is 1775 lbs and the rear axle weight is 1972 lbs. for a total of 3747 lbs. I believe the total cargo weight (driver, passenger, and luggage) is around 450 lbs and of that weight, the rear storage area should not hold more than 100 lbs.

Where does the extra 422 pounds come from? The curb weight of an '87 is 3325 pounds. I can't believe that even all available options would add that amount of weight. Also, the front/rear weight bias is more toward the frot of the car. No C4 ever had a 47/53 front rear weight bias. The published coupe weight bias is 51/49.
