anyone bought the headman long tube headers for an l98 from summit for like $125 but you have to fab the alt bracket because it wrecks it or something? I was wondering what part on the header makes this the trouble and if it can be altered instead of the alt bracket. pretty cheap header but they admit it might take some fab work to fit right.

I believe with LT headers, the original rear alternator to exhaust manifold stud bracket does not fit. Some have left the alternator without this rear bracing and find the case cracks when put under stress from the belt at high RPMs. I think that if you delete the AIR pump, you can use its bracket. If you search the archives, you will find pictures of people that have done this or have fabricated their own simple brackets.
